Dreamcloud vs nectar reddit9/2/2023 ![]() Full foam mattresses always feel like heaven to me at first, but lose support quicker and I’m more prone to sleeping on my side when I don’t feel support under my lower/mid back after years of use. The most interesting thing was that I was able to face left comfortably for the first time. I’m mostly a back sleeper, but when I sleep on my side it’s always facing right. ![]() I was actually having back pain last night building the foundation and that went away. I did feel my body sink into the foam layer a bit and I woke up feeling great. I’d say it’s true medium firm for someone my weight, but probably on the top of that spectrum for someone lighter. This went away completely after 24 hours and after 72 hours (yes I really didn’t use it for 3 whole days) it actually grew a whole inch.Īs for the feel, it’s definitely on the firmer side (which I’m used to/prefer). After opening mine even a few hours later it had a divot line across the top half and bunched up fabric where the logo is. First of all, assuming you don’t get a defect, don’t be alarmed by any creases that don’t go away immediately. Okay the foundation arrived so I got it all set up with the mattress and used it for the first time last night. This way I’ll know if I’m not into it, I at least did everything I could on my end to enjoy it. I plan to let the mattress breath and expand for 72 hours and rotate it 180° every 3 months like they recommend. So I’m not going to make a real opinion until after a full 30 days of use. I’ve also read that the big brands tend to focus on that initial feel for testing in the store despite the mattress lacking in long term support. I’ve read that hybrid is definitely the way to go for me, but regular expanded vs in-a-box is preferred. I definitely want some more pillow soft comfort this time around, but still need support. I’ll say I’m 60% back 40% side sleeper (although if I had to pick a position it would be 100% back). Initial comfort feel was less with my old innersprings, but my body felt more supportive and relaxed over all. I’ve always felt more comfortable long term on a firmer mattress. I’m on the heavier side, but not overly (200 - 220 lb depending on the year). In the mean time I’m curious to hear what current/previous owners think/thought of this brand and what you mattress experts think I’ll feel about it based on my use, if you have a minute to spare of course. In a few cases, you may be tasked with disposing of it yourself.Īnd yes, online reviews of mattresses are complete BS.I’ve already purchased the DreamCloud Premier and am anxious for it to arrive. Like every company, they will give you the runaround, but at the end of the day they will take it back if it doesn't work out for you. If you find one you can test out, like in the secondary market, make sure to roll all the way across it checking for low spots, make sure the cover isn't sagging because it didn't fully inflate, and obviously check for any stains and imperfections and so forth. That said, personally, they're not my favorite mattress, and I'm disappointed in the redesign, but a lot of people do like the feel of the new one. So old reviews are irrelevant.Īlso they seem to have struggled with quality control during covid. Different color, different feel, different quality, different construction, nothing like the old one. ![]() However they did a redesign of it a couple or 3 years ago and the new model is nothing like the old one. Long story short, obviously cannot speak to the longevity/wear of the new mattress but our customer service experience was pretty amazing!įirst of all there are people who really do love their Dreamcloud. Oh and one of guest rooms now has a nice cal king bed in it! Still new though so unsure how it will wear. We received the new mattress last week and so far it’s amazing. We told them about our user error and they told us to KEEP the new bed anyway along with the old one. We added them to the old mattress and boom, it was like new again. While waiting for it to arrive, we realized we had never put the support slats (we have a platform bed) under the mattress on the frame. We sent them immediately and we’re approved for a replacement mattress with their new premiere rest (2 steps higher than the one we purchased). We decided to look into other mattresses but while we did that, we contacted customer service just to see what they said. By August of this year it was sagging and I started to have back pain. My husband (6’3-200) and myself 5’11-150) bought the Cal King standard in late 2019. ![]() There’s a bit of a story to it all though. I know people hate them but I have had a good experience with Dreamcloud/customer experience and love the mattress.
